Editor, Bible Study Paths

Jody was born in the heartland of the United States, growing up as the youngest child and only daughter of middle-class parents. Vocal music, piano, dramatic arts, and various sports were an important part of her childhood, carrying on into nursing school where she had her first editorial job with the school’s newspaper.

Jody has been a registered nurse for over 30 years, with experience in critical care and hospice. Currently the author of three books, Grief: Finding the Candle of Light, Daily Devotions of Ordinary People – Extraordinary God, and 52 Weeks of Ordinary People – Extraordinary God, she also utilizes her administrative gifts as partner and chief of operations at Energion Publications, with her husband, Henry Neufeld. Besides teaching a weekly Bible study in Pensacola, FL, Jody sends out a daily devotion, Monday through Friday which can be accessed through her blog, Jody’s Devotionals.

“After accepting that I was a sinner in need of a Savior in 1995, I felt the Lord calling me to prayer ministry. I became a part of the ministry team at Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Many of us were changed and called into spiritual battle through what has become known as the ‘Pensacola Outpouring’. I met Henry and, after alternately ignoring and arguing with God about His plan for my life, heard the Lord clearly say that Henry and I were to partner in life and in ministry. God’s love is the perfect kind of love that binds a marriage together in a covenant with Him.”

“I have experienced rejection and abuse in my life and made poor decisions that have life long consequences, but God is faithful and merciful. He is always waiting for me to turn to Him and follow His plan and example. He is always willing to heal my wounded heart and spirit, making me a stronger soldier in the battles ahead.”

Jody has three children: Janet and her husband, Chris Lister, who are in ministry in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area of Texas, twin brother, John Webb, a former MLB pitcher, is now pursuing a career in coaching and lives in Phoenix, AZ, and James Webb, who loved to lead praise and worship and his work in marching band, is now home with Jesus after battling cancer for five years. Currently, Jody has five grandchildren: Alex, Anna, Jaxon, Jamie, and Ashton. There are also ‘children of her heart’: Amy and Aaron Bergh, Brett and Shauna Ralston, Erin and Kyle McClellan, and Geoffrey and Liz Lentz (and eight more ‘heart grandchildren’!). “All of them, all, know and love the Lord! What more could I ask from the Lord?”
