Bible Study Path Award 2010 by CFoster

ENERGION PUBLICATIONS ANNOUNCES -

THE BIBLE PATH AWARD WINNER!

Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer. Hebrews 10:25 (CEV)

Dr. Alden Thompson

THE 2010 BIBLE PATH AWARD is given to DR. ALDEN THOMPSON, of College Place, WA. I first met Dr. Thompson when he came to Pensacola, FL in 2001 at the invitation of my husband, Henry. He was going to be doing a weekend seminar on Old Testament (OT) Scripture. I had spent the previous five years doing a lot of Bible study, mostly in the New Testament(NT). The OT seemed out-of-date and minimally relevant to my life. The weekend changed my spiritual life. No surprise that I found I had missed ½ of God’s Word and the relevancy that it was the Bible of Jesus!

Don’t suppose that I came to do away with the Law and the Prophets. I did not come to do away with them, but to give them their full meaning.” Matthew 5:17 (CEV)

The ripple-effect of Dr. Thompson’s work that weekend has gone out through many, many personal ministries besides my own. We have continued to share his illustrations: “The Pie”, “The Keep”, “The Slippery Slope”, to name just a few.

THANK YOU, DR. THOMPSON! KEEP TEACHING AND WRITING AS THE LORD LEADS!

History: Energion Publications, its staff and subsidiaries have established the Bible Path Award. We ask that you, our customers and friends, nominate an individual who personifies the passion of God’s Word, in all its facets, which is to be living and active in our lives.

Who is a Bible Path Award winner?

  • God intended that His Word would teach us. (Psalm 23:3, 27:11) The Bible Path Award winner has sought the Word and allowed it to direct their life.
  • God’s Word is to be a light on our path. (Psalm 119:105, Luke 1:76-79) We are to follow the path given to us with the Holy Spirit’s guidance. The Bible Path Award winner has followed their God-given path through valleys and up mountains that required sacrifice and humility.
  • God’s Word is to enlighten and empower His People. The Bible Path Award winner has freely given what they have learned to others. They have actively sought to encourage and empower other to find and fulfill God’s call on their life.

As you have read these words and someone has come into your mind, prayerfully consider nominating that person for the Bible Path Award. May they be encouraged to continue to seek God and obediently lead others to know God more.

The Bible Path Award winner will receive:

  • the beautiful, one-of-a-kind ceramic award created by Cheryl Foster of CFosters.  Each year, Cheryl will create an award for us. The 2010 award was inspired from John 1 which states that the Word became flesh and lives with us. We are grateful to Cheryl for sharing her gift with us.
